Thanksgiving Baskets

Through your generosity, we will be able to provide households with all the items they need to prepare a full family dinner. Preparing a meal to enjoy around the table together is a simple pleasure of the holidays that makes all the difference. You may contribute a basket for a family or an individual, or you may donate individual items from the list below. Many of the items are available on our Amazon wishlist.

Sign Up for a Basket

Sign-ups to receive Thanksgiving baskets are now open! We are serving residents in 21211. Please bring a photo ID or a piece of mail that shows 21211 as your zip code to register.

Baskets will be distributed Monday, November 22 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Tuesday, November 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Donate a Basket

All donations should be returned to the Center by Friday, November 19. All items donated can be dropped off Tuesday – Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; call the Center if you prefer another time.

Family Basket

  • 1 – family size box/bag of stuffing
  • 2 – cans cranberry sauce
  • 3 – cans vegetables (green beans, corn, carrots etc.)
  • 3 – cans fruit
  • 2 – cans sweet potatoes
  • 1 – family size box of instant potatoes
  • 2 – jars of gravy
  • 2 – cans pumpkin pie filling
  • 1 – can condensed milk
  • $25 gift card to Giant Food for a ham or turkey

Possible additional items –

  • Breakfast cereal, canned meats (tuna, chicken), pancake mix and syrup

Individual Basket

Most recipients are currently experiencing homelessness.
We are accepting individual item donations, or you can choose to create a full basket.

  • Individual cups of fruit
  • Individual packages of peanut butter/crackers and granola bars
  • Individual cans of tuna, chicken, other meat with pull tabs
  • Soup cans with pull tabs
  • Socks
  • Winter hat, gloves, scarf
  • Hand warmers

Holiday Drop-In

Join us for the Holiday Drop-In on Saturday, December 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.! You and your family will be able to pick up festive holiday crafts, snacks and candy, winter gear, and gifts for kids ages 12 and under to enjoy together at home. This is our traditional holiday party, modified for a safe COVID experience, and an event that you won’t want to miss!

Volunteer

Calling all “gifted” wrappers! We will need assistance wrapping gifts in preparation for this program. Contact the Center to sign up for a time the week of December 6th. Invite a few friends or neighbors to join!

Donate

Our most needed items to support this program are: gifts for children ages 8-12, winter coats (all sizes ages 0-16), and men and women’s socks.
Please drop off items Tuesday – Friday from 10am – 4pm, or call the Center if you prefer a different time.

Christmas Angels - gifts for Hampden children

Be an Angel this Christmas for a child in Hampden! 

To adopt a child’s wish list, please contact the Center. All gifts should be wrapped, labeled and returned by Monday, December 13. All items donated can be dropped off Tuesday – Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; call the Center if you prefer another time.

Sign Up Your Child

Caregivers of children ages 12 and under can sign up their youth for this program. You will be able to suggest three gift ideas, each $25 or below.

Gift pick-up for families will be Monday, December 20 and Tuesday, December 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
