A Taste of Hampden 2013
A Taste of Hampden was a tremendous success and a great party. This year the Family Center was able to raise $15,000! There were more than250 people in attendance and the place was overflowing with supporters. Guests mingled with friends and enjoyed sampling a variety of cuisines from 23 participating restaurants. From steamed mussels to lasagna, green chile stew to tenderloin sliders, calamari to baked potato soup, pad thai to tortellini and even bacon and pancake cake for dessert. No one left hungry and everyone remarked the food was delicious and plentiful! The Wine Source generously donated the wine, beer and assorted beverages and this year and Union Craft Brewing donated one of their specialty beers.
Guest participated in a raffle for the “Mystery Boxes.” Some lucky winners departed for the night with raffle prizes in tow thanks to the generosity of local businesses that donated items for our “Mystery Boxes” (see below for details).
Sincere thanks to the many restaurants that participated this year. It was a tremendous success due, in no small measure, to the big hearts of the local establishments that joined us for an evening of food, fun, wine and music. Your generosity and support of the Family Center is greatly appreciated! We hope that you will support the many restaurants that supported us. Thanks to: 13.5%, Alchemy, The Art House, Asian Taste, Birroteca, Breathe Bookstore Café, Corner BYOB, Café Hon, The Charmery, CHOUX Café, Common Ground, Corner BYOB, Daniela’s Pasta & Pastries, The Food Market, Frazier’s, Golden West Café, Grano, Holy Frijoles, KoDee’s Cakes, Luigi’s Italian Deli, Ma Petite Shoe, Rocket to Venus, Royal Farms, Spro Coffee and Woodberry Kitchen!

Hats Off to Hampden Family Center 2013
On April 13, more than 250 guests filled Gutierrez Studios in Woodberry for a night featuring great music by John LT Band, delectable delights provided by The Food Market, libations from The Wine Source and silent and live auction items! One of the most memorable parts of the evening was the wide array of unique hats worn by guests. These provided many great opportunities for pictures and conversations!
In addition to the great candid photos taken throughout the evening, we also had a photo booth operated by Marcus Ross and students enrolled in the Access Art program. Children in our after-school enrichment program created a magnificent piece of art, under the direction and supervision of Kristie Winther, our MICA Community Arts Program Instructor, that served as the backdrop for the photos. Guests had the opportunity to have their photo taken and framed as a fun and memorable souvenir!
