Hats Off to Hampden 2017: Swingin' Shindig
What a great party and successful event! This event would not have been impossible to have without the efforts of many. There are far too many people to list but a special thank you goes out to the party planning committee for their hard work and enthusiasm — they did a dynamite job!
We kept it local this year — not only the venue but all the vendors! Many thanks to Jody and Abby of The Ideal Arts Space — what a fantastic venue for a party and creatively decorated with beautiful blue suede shoe mini gardens thanks to Libby Francis and The Modest Florist. The BBQ from Blue Pit has to be the best in the City not to be outdone by the delicious desserts from The Charmery and Sweet Side Café. Libations were free flowing thanks to the generosity of David Wells and The Wine Source and served up by our friends from The Food Market.
We are very grateful for the generosity and support we received from our silver sponsors: Capital Funding Bank, Falkenhan’s, Keswick-Multi Care and MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in addition to Bronze sponsor: Brad and Christine Chambers. Many thanks to the local merchants — we could not have done this without your help. It is through their support that we are able to host such a terrific event.

A Taste of Hampden 2013
A Taste of Hampden was a tremendous success and a great party. This year the Family Center was able to raise $15,000! There were more than250 people in attendance and the place was overflowing with supporters. Guests mingled with friends and enjoyed sampling a variety of cuisines from 23 participating restaurants. From steamed mussels to lasagna, green chile stew to tenderloin sliders, calamari to baked potato soup, pad thai to tortellini and even bacon and pancake cake for dessert. No one left hungry and everyone remarked the food was delicious and plentiful! The Wine Source generously donated the wine, beer and assorted beverages and this year and Union Craft Brewing donated one of their specialty beers.
Guest participated in a raffle for the “Mystery Boxes.” Some lucky winners departed for the night with raffle prizes in tow thanks to the generosity of local businesses that donated items for our “Mystery Boxes” (see below for details).
